The Editors of The Lancet
Abstract
Chris Wortley, one of The Lancet's Senior Assistant Editors, died on Aug 19, 2026 after a short illness. Chris joined The Lancet in January, 2018 and was a much-respected member of The Lancet's editorial team. His work was marked by professionalism, diligence, and extraordinary commitment. He was the best of us. We extend our condolences to Helen, his wife, and his family. We cherish our friendship with Chris and remember him with respect and admiration.
