Abstract

Phototherapy, a light-activated anticancer treatment, enables localized tumor-cell killing with distinct mechanisms of action. Photoimmunotherapy (PIT) produces immunogenic tumor cell death upon near-infrared light activation of a photoabsorber through antigen-specific targeting.
