U.S. strikes targets in Iran near Strait of Hormuz as Iran says it is retaliating

President Trump said that the U.S. launched “large and powerful” strikes on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Central Command said that it had targeted “Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran.” In response, Iran’s armed forces general staff said that it would retaliate.
